How we create your piece…
STEP 1. A visit to our store where you can discuss your design ideas with our experienced customer service advisors. If you have pictures or drawings, you can bring these with you or we can draw some rough sketches of your idea. We will typically discuss stone choice and metals to get a clear idea of the piece you envisage. There is no charge for this step. After this point you can decide that you want to move forward and press the start button on your piece.
STEP 2. With your design details, we create a computerized (CAD) model that displays multi-angle renderings of your piece. From these images, you can see exactly how your finished piece will look. Once the images are complete, you are invited to come and approve the images or make any changes to the design that you feel are needed when you see the actual piece from all angles.
STEP 3. With your approval on the CAD designs we create a 3D wax model of your piece. This is the exact scale of your piece with all the detailing. It gives you the opportunity to try it on and provides a clearer perspective of how your finished piece will look. Once we have your approval on the wax model we move on to the most exciting part!
STEP 4. Our goldsmiths cast, hand craft and finish your design. Any gemstones are meticulously set and your piece is polished to perfection.
As all our work is carried out on-site, customers can stop in and watch their piece being made at any time. If you like the idea of having your piece custom made, come in and talk to us.
At Revell Jewelers we use traditional jewelry making techniques that include ‘old world’ and some ancient craftsmanship skills. Here you can see an example of one type of ancient method: Cuttlefish casting. Our goldsmith uses two twigs to make the mold for a 14k gold cross. It is made by hand from start to finish.
